🐾 Meet Tanner

Age: 3 years old
Role: Eager Rookie
Known For: Boundless energy, soft eyes, and being the pack’s gentle giant

Tanner is our largest hound—an athletic powerhouse with a heart as big as his frame. At just three years old, he’s still learning the ropes of the hunt, and he does it with humility and heart. Tanner deeply respects the seasoned hounds and relies on their noses and wisdom to guide him. When the pack strikes a line, Tanner is right there, leaping in with all four feet—and sometimes a little too much bounce.

Because if Tanner reminds us of anyone, it’s Tigger from Winnie the Pooh—full of spring, joy, and a kind of cheerful clumsiness that’s as charming as it is uncontainable. He’s got springs in his step, enthusiasm in his soul, and absolutely no idea how big he is. Whether it’s bounding through tall grass or accidentally knocking over a water bucket with his tail, everything Tanner does is done with joyful intensity.

He’s still learning to manage all that enthusiasm—sometimes charging a little too far ahead—but he’s starting to self-correct, checking back in without being told. His joy is infectious, his bounce is unstoppable, and now that he’s learning to trust his nose, he’s beginning to channel all that energy into real purpose in the field.

But don’t expect that energy first thing in the morning—Tanner is not a morning hound. It takes him a good 15–20 minutes to wake up, get his bearings, and figure out what’s going on. He’s groggy, confused, and adorably out of sync until his brain finally boots up and he remembers he’s excited to be alive.

Off the hunt, he’s a sunshine-filled soul who loves butterflies, birds, flowers, and yes—even bumblebees (though he’s learning not to chase them). He often pauses mid-walk to admire whatever’s fluttering nearby, completely enchanted. A playful guy full of energy, he’s often out in the yard tossing a bone or toy into the air, happily entertaining himself with pure joy. His bubbly, happy-go-lucky personality makes him a favorite among humans and hounds alike.

Despite his size and strength, Tanner is as sweet and gentle as they come. He’s affectionate, kind, and always eager to please—he just wants to be a good boy. And when he locks eyes with you, get ready—his soulful gaze has a way of melting hearts.

Tanner reminds us that strength and sweetness can go hand in hand—and that every great hunter starts with a great heart... and maybe a little bounce (after a good nap).
