🐾 Meet Nooner
Age: 9 years old
Role: Senior Statesman
Known For: Legendary nose, strong work ethic, and poolside lounging
At 9 years old, Nooner is our oldest active hunter—but don’t let his age fool you. This veteran hound has a serious work ethic and one of the best noses in the field. He’s all business when it comes to scenting, and the younger hounds know it. He sets the standard, and they respect him.
Nooner isn’t one to seek out affection—he can be a bit standoffish, a natural result of living his life among a large, competitive pack. But in recent seasons, he’s started to soften, showing more ease and comfort around his people. He may not cuddle, but he absolutely shows up—and that loyalty runs deep.
He's also a bit of a character. Nooner is a talker, especially when it’s time for exercise, hunting, or dinner. He barks with purpose, announcing the things that matter most to him. And when he’s not working, he’s got a few clear preferences: a cool pool to lounge in and a private chair to call his own. Fortunately, he now has both.
And when he’s not in that chair or lounging in his pool, you’ll find him standing at the fence, nose lifted, watching everything that goes by—always hunting, always alert. That drive never turns off.
He also enjoys retreating to the quiet of the back hound room with its wall-to-wall futon beds. Warm in winter, cool in summer, and away from the pack’s commotion—it’s Nooner’s version of a spa day.
But once he’s in the field, there’s no lounging. You’ll spot him right away—nose down, all business, fully engaged. Nooner is a master of his craft and still leads by example every time his paws hit the ground.
Nooner reminds us that age is just a number—and that passion, purpose, and a good nose never retire.
