🐾 Meet Edgar
Age: 3 years old
Role: Emerging Talent
Known For: Quiet courage, curiosity, and a growing passion for the chase
Edgar’s journey is one of the most inspiring stories in our pack. When he first arrived at Comanche Creek, he was afraid of everything—including his own shadow. People were terrifying, walks were overwhelming, and even the other hounds bullied him. On early outings, Edgar would freeze in place, turn and run straight home—or worse, run away altogether.
But Edgar wasn’t alone. He received lots of one-on-one time, away from the pressure of the pack. He often slept in the room, right beside his huntsman, where trust and confidence were slowly—and lovingly—built. It took time, patience, and kindness, but after a full year of quiet encouragement, Edgar emerged as a happy, confident young hunter.
His breakthrough moment came on an ordinary walk, when the pack surprised a coyote and Edgar picked up his first fresh scent. As the hounds were called back to practice work the line, Edgar lit up. Something clicked—and from that moment on, he knew what he was born to do.
Now, Edgar is a joyful part of the field, running with purpose and growing bolder by the day. Though not a frequent barker, he’s always curious—watching everything from the second row when not in the lead, no longer fearful, just observant and thoughtful. And more and more often, we’re seeing him start to move to the front, where he belongs.
Edgar has a serious love the ponds and swimming—so much so that he sometimes can’t wait and breaks for a swim before he’s given the go-ahead. His excitement is contagious, his curiosity unshakable, and his courage—once buried deep—now shines through every step.
Edgar reminds us that even the most timid souls can become brave when given time, love, and the chance to shine.
